Topcon IC-1, 1979
Wanted a shutter priority camera after reading all the reviews and found this secondhand and affordable, problem was I never found a long lens for it that I could afford. Sold it to my dad at a very low cost, and it never worked, still feel bad, but they wouldn't take the money back (that's what parents do, I now understand being one myself now). |
Olympus OM-40, 1986
Had sold my Canon cameras out of need, and had taken a rest from photography fpr a year or so. Wanted to get back into the swing, so bought into the Olympus system. I tried the cameras in my local Dixons and liked them, or so I thought. My biggest photography mistake ever (bar my Germany mishap). Never got used to them being so different to the Canons, good quality cameras and results, but just not for me. |
Canon T90, 1988
Traded in my Olympus cameras and bought this beauty. The nicest camera I've ever owned, everything about it seemed right, I was truely in love with it's handling, and never wanted to part with it. I feel this camera to be the most aesthetically pleasing SLR ever built. Just ask the people that are still using one today. |
Canon EOS 550D, 2010
A birthday present from my lovely wife. An excellent camera, produces truly superb digital images, and have now built a good lens range for it from 10mm covering every focal length to 400mm (which equates to 16mm to 640mm with the crop factor of 1.6, you just gotta love modern digital SLRs, haven't you?). My only criticism is that I'd like it to have a better burst rate at times for my sports shooting, but that is being picky! |
Canon EOS 7D Mk II, 2016
Having acquired this stunning camera I now have no excuses! With a burst speed of 10fps (frames per second), amazingly fast autofocus and metering, I'm able to properly keep up with the action. Solidly built and weatherproofed a real tank, my first professional body since the much loved T90. Together with some Canon professional "L" lenses, the quality the equipment is able to produce is superb. Now have two bodies for my sports jobs, this being my main unit. |
Canon EOS 5D Mk III, 2018
Wanted a second body, for other forms of photography away from sports. Purchased this model for full frame lovliness!(equivalent size sensor to 35mm film). Excellent camera, best quality results I've ever had from a camera when combined with my Canon "L" lenses. Canon EOS M50, 2018
Decided I wanted a small, lightweight camera, for when I'm on my travels. Would love to take the 5D MkIII, but coupled with two or three lenses it's just too heavy to lug around with me all the time. So have delved into the realms of mirrorless cameras, which I feel will soon be taking over from DSLRs in general. Excellent quality, providing the ISO is not pushed too hard, fantastic autofocus system. It's a great starter camera for anyone looking to go beyond their smartphone. |
